History

The first idea of Unycom IPMS was born in 1997 and only two years later the first version of our IP Management System for attorneys iPAT was developed. In the year 2000 the Unycom Company was officially founded in Austria with a handful of highly motivated people. The pioneering spirit of the young company convinced Siemens AG and they became the first company using our system for administrating their patents. In the following years further internationally well-known customers, such as SAP, BSH GmbH, Infineon Technologies AG and Adam Opel AG started using Unycom solutions for managing their intellectual property.

In 2003 Unycom took the first step towards expansion as we opened our German office in Munich. We gained further knowledge in the field of patent monitoring which we used for the PatentPilot. In the following years we could convince further European companies to trust in us and our products and we got insight in other industry sectors and their specific requirements, including telecommunications, household appliances, automotive and chemical industries.

In 2010 we have celebrated Unycom’s 10th anniversary with a very successful conference on IP Management in Graz, the location of the Unycom headquarters. In the same year Unycom has taken a further step to internationalization as we have opened a US office in San Francisco, State of California.

Over the last years we have greatly profited from our good relationship with our customers and have constantly improved our products to meet their needs. Especially in the field of usability we have taken a huge step forward. Today, the Unycom product range offers a broad spectrum of comprehensive IP management solutions for companies all over the world. The new generation of Unycom IPMS is in the starting blocks and combines all the knowledge we have gained over the time.
