On September 24 and 25, 2018, Unycom held its first internal ‘Hackathon’ in a co-working space in the heart of town.
The purpose of this event was to give our development department the chance to work on new ideas that hardly fit into our daily business. So, our developers submitted over 40 interesting projects they had long been keen to work on. A voting decided on the nine best ideas, which were then prepared for the Hackathon event.
After a welcome by Michael Kohlhuber and an inspiring keynote by Hasan Salameh, the nine ideas were presented by the respective idea owners – in order to motivate others to join their teams. After the presentation, people formed into teams of two to four people and started to bring their ideas to life.
In the afternoon of the following day, the results and first prototypes were presented, and awards were granted for the best idea, best presentation and best team result. With beer and tasty food, the Hackathon came to a successful end – as several new technologies and innovations could be transformed into promising prototypes.
